How to prepare for Maternity Leave at Work
If you are reading this, I assume that you are pregnant. Congratulations! I hope everything is going well.
Between summer 2019 and late autumn 2022, I went on maternity leave 3 times. Today I found my mind map that I used to prepare my time away from the office to make sure I left my tasks and responsibilities in order. Until I find the right moment to detail the mind map out into a full post I hope that sharing it here can help other mommas-to-be with their maternity leave preparation at work.

Because the truth is, this is not a standard process in every company. Some pregnant women find themselves dealing with a manager and HR who have never supported a pregnant colleague for their maternity leave. Even if there are some guidelines provided by HR, they might be lacking details and completeness.
In fact, I started a survey asking mommas-to-be about their experience preparing for maternity leave and the results have been interesting. I keep the survey open and would love to hear about your experience, too.
Maternity Leave Survey
Are you currently preparing for going on maternity (or parental) leave and taking some time off work? How is this process and preparation going for you? Are companies doing enough to support their employees in this process?
I would love to hear about your experience and thoughts. Anonymously while not signing up for anything.
If you are interested to see what the other mommas-to-be had to say about their experience going on maternity leave, please check back in a couple of weeks. All the best for your pregnancy until then.
